CHAIR
RAFAEL DEL RIEGO
OF GOOD GOVERNANCE
University of Oviedo
The Rafael del Riego Chair for Good Governance is a collaborative initiative between the Principality of Asturias and the University of Oviedo. Through the signing of the corresponding agreement on June 2, 2022 (BOPA 24 de junio de 2022), this partnership aims to combine efforts from both institutions in research, dissemination, and education in the field of good governance, ultimately serving society.
Its main purpose is to bring institutions and citizens closer together, generating and providing knowledge to both parties. This approach seeks to contribute to a stronger connection and harmony between them, a better understanding of their positions, and ultimately, to rebuild trust, which is essential in any relationship.
To achieve this goal, the Chair’s activities are primarily focused on two directions: serving as a think tank for institutions, aiming to provide the government and administration with resources for greater efficiency, openness, and accountability through study and reflection. Additionally, the Chair aims to contribute to the dissemination, outreach, and education of citizens in this field.
