On 11 December, in the Historic Building of the University of Oviedo, Mar\u00eda Luisa Segoviano, Magistrate of the Constitutional Court, gave a conference on \u2018Equality and Social Freedoms\u2019 <\/em>in which she explained and presented, based on the analysis of specific cases, the most important current jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court on issues such as the content and limits of freedom of expression or video-surveillance in work spaces and labour relations. The conference also addressed the issue of non-discrimination on the grounds of birth which, in relation to single-parent families and their childcare leave, is addressed by the very recent STC 140\/2024, of 6 November. Ver\u00f3nica Ca\u00f1al (Director of the Chairs Area of the Vice-rectorate for Transfer), Nuria Rodr\u00edguez L\u00f3pez (Director General of Transparency and Participation of the Government of the Principality of Asturias), Paz Men\u00e9ndez Sebasti\u00e1n (Professor of Labour Law and Director of the Equality Office of the University of Oviedo) and Alejandra Boto \u00c1lvarez (Lawyer of the Constitutional Court) also participated in the activity, presenting and contextualising the lecturer’s intervention. <\/p>\n\n
